Chai Lights: “Corner of Hope”

This picture shows an artistic rendition of the plan for the westward view of the “Corner of Hope” (“Pinat Hatikvah” in Hebrew), a Holocaust memorial to be constructed at the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center. The project is being created by the Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center, a department of the Coalition for Jewish Learning, the education program of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, and it is designed by Phillip Katz. The Whitefish Bay village board approved it on April 5. According to a post on Katz’s blog, this outdoor space “will allow families to come to reflect and to remember loved ones who died during the Holocaust or who survived the Holocaust, and to honor those who brought light to a dark time.” Rendering provided by Phillip Katz-Project Development LLC.
