The next program in “The Nashim Project” — a five-part educational series for Jewish women jointly sponsored by the Coalition for Jewish Learning, the education program of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation; the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center; and the MJF Women’s Division — will be a screening and discussion of the film “Blessed is the Match” (2008).
The program will take place on Thursday, April 7, 7-8:30 p.m., at the JCC. The presenter will be Yael Gal.
“Blessed Is The Match: The Life and Death of Hannah Senesh” is the true story of a young Jewish woman who had emigrated from Hungary to Palestine. She joined the British Army, parachuted into Yugoslavia, and tried to sneak into Hungary in an attempt to save the Jewish community from the Nazis. She was captured and executed.
This session is included in the fee paid by individuals participating in the full series, which started in October. The cost to attend a single session is $10. To learn more or to register, visit www.milwaukeejewish.org or call 414-390-5717.
The remaining program in The Nashim Project is “The Miracle of the Mikvah,“ an educational field trip, scheduled for May 5.
