Stereophile magazine’s February 2011 issue praised as one of its “Records to Die For” a recording by a former Milwaukeean.
Marilyn Nonken, pianist and assistant professor of music and music education at New York University, recorded the “Visions De l’Amen” for two pianos by the 20th century French composer Olivier Messiaen, along with pianist Sarah Rothenberg. The recording was released by Bridge, an independent American label.
Nonken is also working on “Stress Position,” a recording of the complete piano works by contemporary U.S. composer Drew Baker, to be released by New Focus Records.
