Nonken recording lauded in magazine

Stereophile magazine’s February 2011 issue praised as one of its “Records to Die For” a recording by a former Milwaukeean.

Marilyn Nonken, pianist and assistant professor of music and music education at New York University, recorded the “Visions De l’Amen” for two pianos by the 20^th century French composer Olivier Messiaen, along with pianist Sarah Rothenberg. The recording was released by Bridge, an independent American label.

Nonken is also working on “Stress Position,” a recording of the complete piano works by contemporary U.S. composer Drew Baker, to be released by New Focus Records.
