Milwaukee native Marjorie Rose Neu, nee Fredman, died Oct. 23 in Mequon. She was 89.
She graduated from Shorewood High School. She was primarily a homemaker, but did some part-time sales work.
When living in Milwaukee, she was active in Women’s American ORT. After she and her husband Louis Jerome Neu moved to Woodland Hills, Calif., in 1970, they became active in City of Hope. Her family said she also was “a wonderful knitter and embroiderer” and liked to read and play cards.
After her husband died in 1976, she lived for a time in Coconut Creek, Fla., before moving back to the Milwaukee area. She lived at Alexian Village, then moved to Willowbrook Place when it was new and helped organize activities there. She spent the last three months of her life at the Sarah Chudnow Campus.
She is survived by daughter Marianne (William) Arpe of Mequon; son Herb (Sasha) Neu of Northport, Ala.; sister Dorthy Mack of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Hartson Funeral Home in Hales Corners handled arrangements. A memorial reception was held Nov. 2 at Willowbrook Place. A private burial ceremony is scheduled to take place this spring in the Woods Veterans Administration Cemetery.
