The Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center recently was chosen as one of six pilot sites for a new wellness initiative called discover™ that emphasizes the holistic nature of good health by the JCC Association, the leadership network of JCCs in the U.S. and Canada.
Partnering with fitness provider Club One, online tools will help members assess and track their health habits via BeWell and HabitChanger. The discover™ program also addresses intellectual, spiritual and communal needs of the whole person.
discover™ will become available on Jan. 3 to all JCC members as another added membership benefit.
A year-long study by a JCC Association task force resulted in the decision to move JCCs from a focus on exercise-based fitness to a more holistic approach to good health.
