Milwaukeean Rochelle Kianovsky died of breast cancer on March 8. She was 71.
A native Milwaukeean, she graduated from Washington High School in 1955, earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a Master in Library Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
She worked as a librarian at the Milwaukee Public Library and belonged to the American Library Association.
She was a member of Congregation Anshai Lebowitz, NA’AMAT USA and Hadassah: The Women’s Zionist Organization of America.
She is survived by her husband, Raphael Kianovsky of Milwaukee; daughter Sarah (Frank Friedman) Kianovsky of Brookline, Mass.; sons Zev (Arlene Lukin) Kianovsky of Columbus, Wis., and Nahum (Sarah Rosen) Kianovsky of Maplewood, N.J.; sister Diane Budner of Portland, Ore.; and seven grandchildren.
Burial was in Second Home Cemetery. Cantor Beth Levin and Rabbi Mitchell Cohen officiated. Funeral arrangements were handled by Blane Goodman Funeral Service.
