Mother-son team Dr. Fran Kaplan and Aaron Greer took first place at the 2009 Wisconsin Screenwriters Forum Screenwriting Experience contest for their script “Fruit of the Tree.”
“Fruit of the Tree” tells the story of the only known survivor of a lynching in America, Dr. James Cameron, who went on to found America’s Black Holocaust Museum in Milwaukee.
Kaplan and Greer will receive $1,000 plus various prizes from the award’s co-sponsor. Their film will be marketed to film industry contacts.
