Sally Waters (Nee Buchbinder) of Mequon died of complications of Multiple Sclerosis on Jan. 31. She was 72.
Born in Milwaukee, she graduated from Whitefish Bay High School in 1955.
A member of Congregations Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun and Shalom, she was involved with both congregations’ Sisterhoods. She was active in organizations throughout the community, including the Women’s Welfare Board, the National Council of Jewish Women and Sinai Samaritan Medical Center’s auxiliary.
In addition to doing volunteer work throughout the community, she worked in sales at Harleys, a men’s fashion retailer in Shorewood.
She read voraciously, was an avid art collector and had special interest in needlework. “She was a true lady in every way and was well respected in the community,” said her twin sister Suzy Buchbinder Ettinger of Mequon.
She was preceded in death by husband John “Frosty” Waters, in 1990.
Burial was at the Spring Hill Cemetery. Rabbis Steven Foster and Ronald M. Shapiro officiated. Blane Goodman Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
Memorial gifts are requested to the Sanford J. Ettinger Memorial Lecture Fund at Congregation Shalom or Jewish Museum Milwaukee.
