Helen Bukin (nee Rosoff), died Dec. 29 of dementia and hypertension. She was 97.
Born in Glussk, Russia, in 1912, Helen lived in Lincoln, Neb., before moving to Milwaukee in 1925. In 1930, she graduated from North Division High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison
She worked as a clerk and typist with the U.S. Army’s Quartermaster Corps in Chicago.
A member of Hadassah and NA’AMAT (formerly known as Pioneer Women), she enjoyed reading, shopping in thrift shops, traveling around southeastern Wisconsin, drinking coffee and eating bread, cheese and sweets.
“She was a beautiful, loving person. She was always loving, always forgiving,” said her son Jerome Bukin of Milwaukee.
Her husband, Arthur Bukin, died in 1965. In addition to her son Jerome, she is survived by son Erwin Bukin of Milwaukee.
Burial was in Second Home Cemetery. Mel Pomerantz officiated. Goodman-Bensman Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
