Phyllis Kay Rubinstein

Grafton resident Phyllis Kay Rubinstein, nee Rutberg, died Dec. 15 of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and pneumonia at age 71.

A 1956 graduate of Washington High School, she returned to school after many years and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1984 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s School of Social Welfare. She then worked as a juvenile parole officer at the Child Adolescent Treatment Center.

A member of Congregation Shalom, she was interested in reading, travel, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by husband Jack Rubinstein; daughters Laura (Chris Besler) Adair and Jill (Todd) Ohde, both of Mequon; son Jimmy Rubinstein of Milwaukee, and two grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Blane Goodman Funeral Service. Burial was in Mound Zion Cemetery. Rabbi Ronald M. Shapiro officiated.
