Simon Lipsutz, owner of a local delicatessen, died on Oct. 23 at age 89.
A native of Krasnik, Poland, Lipsutz was the only one of his seven siblings to survive the Holocaust. After the war, he moved to Birmingham, Ala., and then to Milwaukee, where he owned and operated Sy’s Lunch with his wife, Angie.
In 1982, he moved to Florida and in 2004, he moved to Phoenix, Ariz.
He is survived by son Leonard (Wendy) of Phoenix, daughter Bashe (Tzvi) Pasikov of Jerusalem, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services took place in Israel.
