Alfred Rozran died on Sept. 6 of heart failure. He was 93. A Milwaukee native, he lived in Bonita Beach, Fla.
A graduate of Riverside High School, he graduated from the University of Michigan and Marquette University Law School. He practiced estate and tax law before retiring to Bonita Beach.
According to his son-in-law Blane (Judith) Goodman, he “performed many hours of pro bono legal work and contributed quietly to many charities.” He volunteered as a reading tutor at Bonita Springs Middle School and was twice honored as the State of Florida Volunteer of the Year.
“I never met a man who didn’t like Al,” Goodman said. “I first met him in 1977 and quickly discovered his integrity, intelligence, love of family and quick wit.”
In addition to his work and volunteer commitments, he swam daily, read avidly and kept abreast of current news.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruth Rozran (nee Leno) of Bonita Beach; daughters Judith (Blane) Goodman of Milwaukee and Janet Rozran of Tucson, Ariz.; brothers Burton (Joyce) Rozran of Milwaukee and David Rozran of Long Beach; and three grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Blane Goodman Funeral Service. Burial was in Second Home Cemetery. Rabbi Ronald M. Shapiro officiated.
