Perry E. Cohen

Grafton resident Perry E. Cohen died August 5 from a stroke. He was 72.

A native Milwaukeean, he graduated from Washington High School in 1955 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1959.

A member of Congregation Shalom, he was the owner and president of Countryside Building and Supply.

Though he loved to travel and visited “so many beautiful places,” he also loved being at home, said his wife of 31 years, Natalie M. (nee Levine) Cohen.

“His children were his very favorite,” she said. “He loved spending time with them and taking them for rides in the countryside. We always stopped in new restaurants along the way.”

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Mark Cook of Grafton and Michael (Lisa) Cook of Wauwatosa; and two granddaughters.

Graveside services were held on Aug. 6 in Mound Zion Cemetery. Rabbi Ronald M. Shapiro officiated. Milwaukee Jewish Funeral Home handled funeral arrangements.

The family would appreciate memorial contributions to Congregation Shalom, 7630 N. Santa Monica Blvd., Milwaukee, WI 53217.
