Artist and party coordinator Dorothy (Dottie) Paris, nee Estren, died of natural causes on Aug. 19 at age 91.
A Marinette native, she came to Milwaukee in 1936 after graduating from Marinette High School. She attended the Layton School of Art, the predecessor to the Milwaukee Institute for Art and Design, and the Milwaukee State Teacher’s College.
She worked as a fashion artist for local department stores and ran a party planning business, Dottie Paris Parties. She also loved watercolor painting, bowling and playing mah jongg.
A member of Congregation Shalom, she held the offices of trustee and hospitality chairman. She was also involved with B’nai B’rith Women and Hadassah.
Her husband of 62 years, Peter Paris, died in 2001. She is survived by son Jon Paris of New York City.
Goodman Bensman Funeral Home handled arrangements for the graveside funeral. Rabbi Ronald M. Shapiro officiated.
