Shorewood resident George Edelstein died on July 16 as the result of a fall. He was 92.
A Milwaukee native, he attended West Division High School and Milwaukee-Downer College. He owned PermaFrame, a Shorewood company specializing in a patented permanent framing method, for more than 60 years. He continued working until about three years before his death.
A member of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun and B’nai B’rith, he enjoyed playing Scrabble and poker.
His wife of 61 years, Annette Edelstein, died in 2002. He is survived by daughters Judith Edelstein of Santa Monica, Calif., and Joy E. (Paul) Carter of Whitefish Bay; sons Daniel (Linda) Edelstein of Novato, Calif., Gordon (Gina) Edelstein of Orlando, Fla., Lawrence Luanne Edelstein of Horicon, Wis., and Leo (Marsha) Edelstein of Madison; and 11grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Jewish Community Funeral Home. Services were held on July 20, followed by burial in Spring Hill Cemetery. Rabbi Ronald Shapiro officiated.
Memorial donations to the American Diabetes Association’s Research Program would be appreciated by the family.
