Wailing Wall album recorded in Wisconsin

“Hospital Blossom,” the debut LP of The Wailing Wall, was recorded primarily at a boathouse in Stone Lake, Wis. According to JDub Records’ Web site, the first sounds on the album are from a field recording of a thunderstorm outside that boathouse.

The Wailing Wall is headed by Jesse Rifkin and fluctuates between one and 38 members. Released on June 9 by JDub Records, the album is described as “ a narrative about the search for spiritual meaning and fulfillment.”

Rifkin was so inspired by the spot he found in Wisconsin that he posted a video of the sunset there on the JDub site, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tox7tDkExxc.
