Paula Simon to retire

Paula Simon, the executive director of the Milwaukee Jewish Council for Community Relations (MJCCR), has announced her retirement, effective August 31, 2009. MJCCR speaks as the representative voice of the Jewish community on public affairs and community relations issues.

During her 21 years at the council, Simon has represented the community on school choice, hate crimes, stem cell research, Catholic-Jewish dialogue, end-of-life concerns, and the crisis in the Middle East, among other issues.

Reflecting on her career at the council, Simon said, “I have been blessed with the opportunity to do work that I am passionate about with professionals who have a shared commitment to the Jewish community and tikkun olam.”

A constituent agency of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, MJCCR is governed by a board of 56 members representing a cross-section of the Milwaukee area’s Jewish community, including synagogues and Jewish organizations.
