A daughter, Chana Bassie was born Dec. 26 to Sheina and Zalman Myer-Smith of Mequon. She is the sister to Yehudis, 7, Mendel, 6, Hindy, 4, and Moshe, 2.
The maternal grandparents are Ellen and Sam Stern of Mequon. Wendy and David Myersmith of Wellesley, Mass., are the paternal grandparents.
The baby is named in memory of her maternal great-grandmother, Anita (Chana Bassie) Stern.
