Doris Eichner

Milwaukee native Doris “Duddy” Eichner (nee Feller) died Dec. 18 at the age of 85.
A 1941 graduate of Washington High School, she was engaged to marry Milwaukeean Sam Schwartz, who died in battle near the end of World War II.

She married Chicagoan Morton Eichner, who had been a prisoner of the Japanese during the war, and they lived in Chicago for several years.

In the 1950s, the Eichners moved to Los Angeles. For the last five years of her life she lived in Mesa, Ariz.

Eichner was involved in various veterans’ organizations. She especially enjoyed her family and entertaining in her home. Baseball fans, she and her husband had season tickets to see the Los Angeles Dodgers for many years, her family said.

Preceded in death by her husband and sister, Rosalyn Horwitz, she is survived by daughters Phyllis (Armando) Martin del Campo of Las Vegas and Carol (Larry) Wasserman of Lake Forest, Calif.; son David (Shelley) Eichner of Mesa; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services and burial took place in Los Angeles on Dec. 22.
