A graduate of Washington High School, he set records there as a hurdler and sprinter. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison on an athletic scholarship and played for the Badgers football team, according to his family.
After college, Siegel founded and was CEO of United Wine and Spirits, a liquor and wine distributorship. He operated that business until he retired in 1982.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Lois Siegel (nee Malmon), daughter Elizabeth Siegel and brother Arthur Siegel.
He is survived by wife Judith Gordon (nee Sachs); sons Robert Siegel and William (Lauren) Siegel of Milwaukee; step-sons Bradley (Dana) Gordon of Riverside, Conn., Michael (Christina) Gordon and Douglas (Toni) Gordon of Boston; sisters Barbara Recht and Toby Harris of Milwaukee; and 12 grandchildren.
Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home handled the funeral and burial arrangements. Rabbis David Cohen and Mendel Shmotkin officiated at funeral services at Congregation Sinai, Nov. 7. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
The family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Friendship Circle of Lubavitch of Wisconsin or the Grand Avenue Club.
