Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama tells us that he will bring “change” and we are to assume that this will be a good thing.
In the Sept. 12 Chronicle, Prof. Richard Schwartz wrote in a letter that we should not vote for Republican nominee John McCain because he favors “change” in the environment, and we are to assume that that is a bad thing.
Those who espouse the word “change” are not trying to inform us; they are trying to deceive us. Otherwise they would say what they actually believe.
A change in the environment can either be good or bad, or it can be good for some and bad for others. Yes, if the globe warms some places will get dryer, but some places will get wetter.
Yes, crops may fail in some places nearer the equator, but they will flourish in other places in the northern hemisphere. Just think of the tens of millions of frozen acres in USA, Canada, Russia and China.
Schwartz tells us that we must vote for Obama to save Israel from drought and flooding caused by climate “change.” Will Obama do this before or after he walks on water, saves the lepers, makes the crippled walk and brings salvation to us all?
