Tessie Luck

Tessie Luck, of Glendale, died on April 4 of natural causes. She was 92.

Luck was born in Russia and attended high school in Brooklyn, NY. She came to Wisconsin in 1937.

A member of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun, Luck was also active in NA’AMAT USA-Milwaukee Council and in Hadassah-Milwaukee Chapter.

According to her family, Luck was a strong supporter of Israel and was especially devoted to her friends and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by husband Harry Luck in 1979 and by son Max Luck in 1983. She is survived by son Dr. Allan J. (Shari) Luck of Milwaukee; daughter Judith (Dr. Neal) Sher of Minneapolis; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Rabbi Marc Berkson officiated at graveside services held at Anshai Lebowitz Cemetery on Friday, April 6.

Sidney Miller
Milwaukee native Sidney Miller died of heart failure on April 12. He was 89.
A 1935 graduate of North Division High School, he received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1939.

Before retiring to Florida in 1972, he owned Sid Miller Furniture for over 30 years and was a member of Beth El Ner Tamid Synagogue.
According to his family, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, playing golf, listening to music (especially Tony Bennett), and working on his computer.

Son Jimmy Miller preceded him in death in 1986. He is survived by wife Muriel Miller of Pembrook Pines, Fla.; daughter Lynn Miller of San Francisco; son Doug (Ellen) Miller of Del Ray Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Miller was buried in Hollywood, Fla. on April 15.
