Tracy Jo Sweet died on April 24 of acute lymphocytic leukemia. She was 40.
Born in Milwaukee, Sweet graduated from Homestead High School in 1984. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1988 and her law degree from Case University Law School in Cleveland in 1992.
She worked as a Donor Relations Coordinator for the Minneapolis Jewish Federation.
According to her family, she loved kayaking, running marathons, swimming and water-skiing.
She is survived by her father James A. (Elaine) Sweet of Mequon; mother Judith J. (Allan) Strauss of Bayside; sisters Stephanie (Michael) Chauss and Michelle (Raj) Thomas, both of Woodbury, Minn.; step-sisters Nicole Pouliot of Honolulu and Betsy (Robert) Newbold of Boston; and step-brother Jon (Kay) Strauss of Minneapolis.
Rabbis Ronald Shapiro and Jacob Herber officiated at services held at Congregation Shalom on April 27. Burial was in Mound Zion Cemetery.
The family appreciates memorial contributions to the Tracy Sweet Camp Interlaken JCC Scholarship Endowment Fund.
