May 3 — Ruth Messinger of American Jewish World Service speaks about the Darfur crisis at Congregation Beth Israel, 7 p.m. Rides available.
May 4 — Enjoy "Shabbat Across America" at the Hills. Services, 6 p.m.; dinner, 7 p.m.
May 6 — Walk A Mile In Her Shoes, 10:45 a.m. Meet at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Union Concourse. Walk with fellow students and raise awareness for programs that help those affected by sexual assault and gender violence. Student price is $10 and includes a t-shirt (and high heels for men).
May 8 — JE [Jewish Education] Tuesday at Hillel. Dinner at 6 p.m.; speaker at 7 p.m. A local Milwaukee police officer will talk about street smarts and how to handle yourself if you are victimized by a crime.
May 9 — Stressed or Depressed? 7 p.m. Melanie Wasserman of Jewish Family Services speaks, and we will have a creative art project to help alleviate end-of-semester blues.
May 16 — Celebrate the end of the school year and Yom Yerushalayim with a BBQ and frisbee. 5 p.m. Meet at Lake Park, picnic area number 2. Afterward, rides will be available to hear the Israeli group, Esta, at Beth El Ner Tamid Synagogue. Picnic is free; concert is $5.
