Mequon resident Jack Glaser died of cardiac arrest on Dec. 10. He was 83.
Born in Milwaukee, Glaser attended South Division High School where he was an all-city football player. Glaser also played football at Marquette University, and upon graduating with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering considered playing football professionally, but decided not to for practical reasons, his family said.
Glaser served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe, where he installed phone lines in occupied ally territories.
Upon returning from the war, Glaser finished his college education and worked as a civil engineer for various construction companies before opening Advance Pipe and Supply Company, Inc. in Pewaukee in 1967.
Glaser, who was a member of the National Precast Concrete Association, operated that business until 1988, when he sold it to his son, Bruce (Peggi) Glaser of Glendale.
A member of Anshe Sfard Kehillat Torah, Glaser enjoyed going for rides in his car and out to eat with friends and relatives, his family said.
Glaser is further survived by his wife, Meryl Glaser (nee Kreeger); daughters Diane (Bill) Simmons of Glendale and Carol (Michele Scott) Glaser of Los Angeles; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Blane Goodman Funeral Service, LLC. Rabbi Nachman Levine officiated at graveside services in Second Home Cemetery on Dec. 12.
The family appreciates memorial contributions to the charity of the donor’s choice.
