Zelda A. Mitchell

Funeral services were held in Phoenix, Ariz., on March 18 for Zelda A. Mitchell. She died of complications of dementia at the Jewish Home and Care Center in Milwaukee on March 15. She was 87.

She was born in St. Louis and spent much of her adult life in Phoenix. She moved to Milwaukee in 1999 after her husband, Ray Mitchell, died in 1997.

She had worked as a real estate agent and accountant assistant; and enjoyed sewing and making handicrafts in her spare time. She supported the City of Hope.

Her survivors include daughters Judy (Paul) Joseph of Milwaukee, Marilyn (Donn Kessler) Mitchell of Phoenix, and Sandy (Joel Smith) Mitchell of Pittsburgh; son Mel (Bev) Mitchell of Los Angeles; eight grandchildren; and one great-grand child.

Memorials to the City of Hope or the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
