Sylvia Goldman

Native Milwaukeean Sylvia Goldman (nee Goldberg) of Bayside died Oct. 17. She was 85.

A graduate of North Division High School, she was a homemaker, mother and “Auntie Grandma,” according to her family. Her special interests included art, music, interior decorating, gardening, travel, philanthropy and the monthly mahjong “girls,” Shirley Aaron, Sylvia Rudberg and Shirley Zembrosky.

She was a member of Congregation Shalom.

Preceded in death by husband Gilbert Goldman in 1970, she is survived by daughters Susan Goldman of Madison and JoAnne Goldman of Boston; and sister Ida Freeman of Milwaukee.

Rabbi Ronald Shapiro officiated at funeral services at Congregation Shalom, Oct. 20. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Memorials to New Israel Fund or Milwaukee Jewish Historical Society would be appreciated by the family.
