Former Milwaukeean Shirley Lerner (nee Sklar) died in Seminole, Fla., Oct. 18 of complications of Alzheimer’s disease. She was 85.
She graduated from North Division High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She was a member of Congregation Shalom and was a Hebrew teacher there. Her interests included painting and music.
She is survived by sons Phillip (Linda) Lerner of Seminole and Robert Lerner of Brooklyn, and two grandsons. Her husband, Maurice Lerner, died in 1998.
Services and burial were held in Florida.
The family suggested memorials to the Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund at Congregation Shalom.
