Sarene Joy Cohn, nee Gould, of Mequon died of a heart attack on Dec. 19. She was 77.
A Milwaukee native, she was class valedictorian at West Division High School in 1947.
She attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, but did not complete a degree.
In addition to being a homemaker, she was a supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society. She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel and Hadassah.
According to her family, her special interests were art, music, theater and opera. She also volunteered at the Jewish Home and Care Center beauty shop.
She is survived by husband Irving Cohn, D.D.S.; daughter Beth (Alan English) Cohn of Scottsdale, Ariz.; son Marc (special friend Lisa Steinman) Cohn, D.D.S., of Milwaukee; brother Foster Gould of Cincinnati; and six grandchildren.
Rabbi David Cohen officiated at the funeral at Congregation Sinai on Dec. 22. Buriel was at Beth Hamedrosh Hagodel Cemetery.
