Paul Darryl Chase

Milwaukee native Paul Darryl Chase of Glendale died March 6 of cancer. He was 69.
A graduate of the University School of Milwaukee and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, he was employed by the Jewish Community Center as a social worker for 25 years, according to his family.

He was a youth director, young adult director and originated many programs, including adoption support groups, a senior citizen day camp and Soviet and Syrian Jewry “teach-ins.”

“Paul was mostly known for being the loved director of Camp JCC day camp and Camp Interlaken,” his family said.

He especially enjoyed reading, writing and electronics, they said.

He is survived by wife Shirley Chase, nee Hurwitz; daughters Lisa (Nathaniel) Pick of Glendale and Denise (Greg) Miller of Milwaukee; mother Rose Chase, nee Meister, of Bayside; and four grandchildren.

Rabbi Isaac Lerer officiated at funeral services, March 9. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions to the M.A.C.C. Fund would be appreciated by the family.
