Nathan Zeiger

Milwaukee native Nathan Zeiger, 88, died Oct. 5 in Overland Park, Kan.

He left Milwaukee after serving in World War II. After graduating from the Gemological Institute of America, he and his wife, Ruth, owned and operated President Jewelers in Waterloo, Iowa, from 1952-80.

He was a member of Sons of Jacob Synagogue in Waterloo, B’nai B’rith, the Anti-Defamation League, the Masons, SCORE and the Elks.

In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by daughters Vicki Zeiger Mooney of Overland Park and Jeanne Zeiger Krulewich of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; sisters Blanche Helfer of Skokie, Ill., and Fay Colberg of Glendale; sisters-in-law Selma Zeiger of Fox Point and Doris Zeiger of Encino, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Oct. 8 at Mound Zion Cemetery in Milwaukee.
