Showing your Jewish identity has its serious side too. Another item being seen around the Milwaukee area is silver memorial bracelets available from www.all4israel.org .
The bracelets, which are each engraved with the name of an Israeli killed in a terrorist attack, along with his or her age and date of death, are selling for $2 each.
All proceeds go to the organization, which provides a resource for donors and organizations looking for ways to help Israel, as well as assistance to families who are victims of terror.
According to Zalman Indig, director of all4israel.org, the organization’s goal is to sell 1000 bracelets for each victim (of which there are almost 1000), a feat that they have not yet managed.
Though the Web site states that the bracelets can be purchased in multiples of 100 only, Indig said that any size order is available by payment with check, and shipping is included.
Indig said so far that all4israel.org has sold the bracelets to synagogues, camps, and other organizations, which then can use them as fundraisers.
“We don’t make much money on it,” Indig said, but “we do it more for people to hear about us,” and because “it urges people to get involved.”
