Linda J. Hornik

Former Racine attorney Linda J. Hornik died July 18 of cancer. She was 40.

She was born in Milwaukee and graduated from Nicolet High School, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Marquette University Law School.

She was a sole practitioner in her Racine law office. “It was noteworthy,” according to her family, “that at a young age she had argued two cases before the Wisconsin Supreme Court.”

She and her partner, Kathleen Hornik, had recently moved to Bayside from Racine.
She is survived by her son, Matthew Hornik of Bayside; parents Seymour and Betty Hornik of Mequon; brothers Morris (Carole) Hornik of Washington, D.C., and Robert (Sheri) Hornik of Bayside; and sister Deborah (John) Adashek of Bayside.

Graveside services were conducted by Cantor Mitchell Martin on July 20 at Mound Zion Cemetery.

Contributions to the Mo Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 297153, Houston, TX 77292-0153, were suggested by the family.
