Lawrence %u201CLory%u201D Lubotsky

Lawrence “Lory” Lubotsky of Clearwater, Fla., died Sept. 17. He was 78.

Born in Milwaukee, Lubotsky served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

According to his family, he was a prominent and successful businessman, primarily in the automobile business, both in Milwaukee and in Florida, where he, his late wife and youngest daughter moved in 1976.

A member of Temple Ahavat Shalom, Palm Harbor, Fla., he was “philanthropic in a quiet way,” his family said.

He was a master mason and a member of the American Legion and Jewish War Veterans.

Preceded in death by wife Anne Lubotsky in 2004, he is survived by daughters Jody (Todd) Herbert of Glendale and Terry Lubotsky of Reddington Shores, Fla.; son David (Martene) Lubotsky of Palm Harbor, Fla.; sister Barbara Haber of Winchester, Mass.; and six grandchildren.

Rabbi Gary Klein officiated at funeral services on Sept. 19 in Curlew Hills Memory Gardens, Palm Harbor.

The family will hold a memorial visit on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 5:30-8:30 p.m., in the home of Jody and Todd Herbert, 6585 N. Pine Shore Dr., Glendale.
