Milwaukee native Kenneth M. Kupper of San Diego died on Oct. 13 of congestive heart failure. He was 89.
Kupper graduated from South Division High School, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and UW-Madison Law School. He was a jeweler, and was president of Estberg & Sons Jewelers in Waukesha for 40 years. He was also affiliated with Herman Kupper Jewelers in Milwaukee.
Kupper was a six-year veteran of the United States Air Force, discharged in 1947 with the rank of major.
According to his family, he retired to the San Diego area in 1986, returning to Milwaukee often to visit family and friends.
In Milwaukee, he was a member of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun.
His wife, Edith B. Kupper (nee Hirsch), preceded him in death in 1983. Survivors include his son, John D. (Janet) Kupper, of Wilmette, Ill.; a daughter, Elizabeth K. (James) Wiedabach, of Mequon; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Oct. 29 at Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home. Rabbi Samuel Gordon of Congregation Sukkat Shalom in Wilmette officiated.
Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
