Julius Hirsh of Shorewood died June 16 after a long illness. He was 83.
Born in Mandel, Germany, he graduated from a German trade school in 1938. He came to Milwaukee the same year.
He owned Slipcover Studio, a custom slipcover and drapery business, and then House of Fabrics. He developed renal disease in 1970 and was on kidney dialysis for 13 years.
He was a member of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun. According to his family he loved photography, fishing and helping his wife at art shows.
Rabbi Marc Berkson officiated at funeral services June 18. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Hirsh; sons T. Robin (Deborah) Hirsh of Berkeley, Ca.; and Jay (Wendy) Hirsh of Charlottesville, Va.; and three grandchildren.
