Longtime Milwaukee certified public accountant Hyman Wolfe Madnek of Fox Point died May 4 of cancer. He was 81.
His devotions in life were his family, Judaism, classical music and playing the violin. A graduate of Marquette University, he held the honor of being the youngest person in Wisconsin to receive the CPA designation at that time. He was the founder of his own accounting firm.
He was a past president and lifelong member of Congregation Anshe Sfard and a longtime supporter of many Jewish and other causes, include the Milwaukee Jewish Federation and the Wisconsin Institute for Torah Study.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Madnek; daughters Sharon (Marc) Madnek-Lopez of Geneva, Switzerland, and Susan (Michael) Madnek-Oxman of Highland Park, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services were held May 6 at Mound Zion Cemetery.
