Funeral services were held Feb. 26 for Herschel Mirviss of Brown Deer. He died Feb. 23 of heart failure at the age of 88.
He was born in Minneapolis and grew up in Milwaukee, graduating from South Division High School. In 1937, he earned a bachelor of science degree at Marquette University and worked in the accounting department at Allis Chalmers.
He belonged to Congregation Anshai Lebowitz. His hobbies included reading and exercise.
Survivors are his wife, Vivian Mirviss (nee Coplan); sons Dr. Marshall (Rita Fleder) Mirviss of Mequon and Richard (Suzanne De John) Mirviss of Novato, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
Rabbi Bernard Reichman officiated at the service. Burial was in Anshai Lebowitz Cemetery.
The family suggested memorials to Congregation Anshai Lebowitz.
