Harriet Lippus

Harriet Lippus (nee Rotter) formerly of Milwaukee, died of Alzheimer’s disease in Newport Beach, Calif., on Nov. 24. She was 96.

She graduated from Washington High School in 1927. Her parents, Louis and Sarah Rotter, owned the Rotter Baking Company.

A homemaker, she was a member of Women’s American ORT, Hadassah and B’nai B’rith. Her special interests included volunteering, bridge, dancing, mahjong and gardening, according to her family.

Preceded in death by husband Sol Lippus in 1998, she is survived by daughter Jackie Fluhr of Newport Beach, Calif.; sisters Bernice Sigman of Las Alamedas, Calif., and Lillian Zolin of Boston; brothers Dr. Roy (Muriel) Rotter of Madison, Emanuel Rotter of Fox Point and Merton (Dottie) Rotter of Mequon; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Rabbi Marc Rubenstein officiated at funeral services in Laguna Hills, Calif., Nov. 29.
Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
