Gertrude S. Kiselow

Former Racine resident Gertrude Kiselow (nee Spracker) died June 22 in Palm Desert, Calif., at the age of 91.

She was born in Pittsfield, Mass., and grew up in Wisconsin. In 1936, in Racine, she married Samuel Kiselow and the couple resided there until his death in 1987. At that time she moved to California.

A 1932 graduate of Marquette University Law School, she was a member of the Wisconsin Bar Association. She practiced law in Milwaukee with her brother, the late Judge Maurice Spracker.

In Racine, she was active at Beth Israel Sinai Temple, serving as a board member and Sisterhood president. She was a life member of Hadassah and a board member of the Girl Scouts of Racine and Family Services of Racine. Also, she was a volunteer with the St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary in Racine for 30 years.

She is survived by son Dr. Mark (Deborah) Kiselow of Indian Wells, Calif.

Rabbi Paul Kerbel officiated at graveside services on June 28 at the Racine Jewish Memorial Cemetery.

The family would appreciate memorials to Beth Israel Sinai Temple or Hadassah.
