Native Milwaukeean Gene Posner, 90, died April 6 of pneumonia.
A graduate of Washington High School in 1930 and the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1934, he earned a law degree from Marquette University in 1937.
“A man of wit, wisdom and curiosity,” he was a “lawyer, entrepreneur, philanthropist and life-long supporter of all things Milwaukee,” according to his family.
He worked at Caswell Investments and Posner Realty Corporation. He was a member of the Milwaukee and Wisconsin bar associations and a past-president of Brynwood Country Club.
Preceded in death by wife Ruth Weiner Posner in 1997 and son Jeffrey Posner in 1999, he is survived by daughter Barbara (Jack) Ward of Plymouth, Mass.; son Fredric (Gail) Posner of Evergreen, Colo.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Rabbi Ronald Shapiro officiated at graveside services at Spring Hill Cemetery April 10.
