Manitowoc native Eugene Muchin died Jan. 15 in Dallas, Tex. He was 78.
He was the president of the Alfred Muchin Company in Milwaukee, and a supporter of many Jewish and charitable organizations, including the American Jewish Congress, B’nai B’rith, Chabad Lubavitch, Jewish Community Center, the Milwaukee Jewish Federation and Jewish National Fund.
In addition, he supported the American Legion, Cleveland Home for Orphaned Children, Masonic Tripoli Temple and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Further, he was a member of Congregation Shearith Israel in Dallas, the UACC & Manuscript Society, Ephemera Society of America, Professional Autograph Dealers Association, American Philatelic Society and the American Numismatist Association.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Muchin (nee Kane); sons Marc Muchin of Chicago and Chip (Julie) Muchin of Dallas; brother Arden (Bettie) Muchin of Manitowoc; sister-in-law Dorothy Muchin of Chicago; and a granddaughter.
Graveside services were held Jan. 18 in Dallas.
