Funeral services were held Sept. 16 for Esther Ruth Sapiro of Fox Point. She died Sept. 14 of pneumonia at the age of 93.
She was born in Viroqua, Wis., and attended Madison Central High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She moved to Milwaukee in 1930.
She belonged to Congregation Shalom and its Sisterhood and volunteered with the American Red Cross as a “Gray Lady.” Her family was very important to her, and very appreciative of her home-baked cookies.
She is survived by daughter Barbara (Robert) Aronson of Bayside; son Stanley (Jaclyn) Sapiro of Thiensville; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Alfred J. Sapiro, died in 1989.
Rabbi Ronald Shapiro officiated at the service. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
