Graveside services were held Aug. 8 for Ellen Plotkin (nee Edelstein) of Glendale. She died Aug. 5 of respiratory failure at the age of 88.
She was born in Milwauke and graduated in 1933 from Bay View High School. She continued her education at the University of Wisconsin Extension Division and worked as a secretary at the Milwaukee County Office on Aging.
She was a member of B’nai B’rith and enjoyed sewing, ceramics and spending time with her family.
She is survived by sons Richard (Sheila) Plotkin of Madison, Michael (Margaret) Plotkin of Mequon, and Spencer (Paula) Plotkin of Menomonee Falls; brother James (Florence) Edelstein of Waukesha; sister Ruth Yablanz of Beverly Hills, Calif.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Plotkin, in 1969.
Rabbi Kenneth Katz of Madison officiated at the service at Second Home Cemetery.
