Eleanor Schiff, a longtime resident of Milwaukee, died of cancer Oct. 4. She was 91.
Born and raised in Lorain, Ohio, she came to Milwaukee from Clarksburg, W.Va., in 1942. She owned and operated Schiff Travel Agency in Shorewood from 1975 to 1988.
She was a member of the boards of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation and the federation’s Women’s Division. She was also a member of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun, where she was a Sisterhood president. In addition, she served as an active volunteer in a number of Shorewood school and village organizations.
Her family said that she especially enjoyed travel, theater, opera, golf and reading.
Preceded in death by her husband, Philip, in 1963, she is survived by sons Norman (Cookie) Schiff of Reno, Nev., and Richard (Judy) Schiff of Denver, Colo.; daughter Ronda (Alan) Channing of Chicago; and six grandchildren.
Rabbi Marc Berkson officiated at funeral services Oct. 7. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
