David Kaufman

David Kaufman, a native of Milwaukee, died Dec. 10 of complications from heart bypass surgery. He was 91.

A graduate of Bay View High School, class of 1930, he attended Marquette University. He was a jeweler and worked at Stone’s Jewelers until he retired in 1981.

He was a member of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun and its brotherhood, as well as B’nai B’rith. He was an avid reader and enjoyed books-on-tape and crossword puzzles, according to his family.

He is survived by wife Rose Kaufman (nee Klieger) of Glendale; daughters Judith (Marshall) Weingarten of Overland Park, Kan., and Brenda Safer of Milwaukee; brother Bernard (Sylvia) Kaufman of Mequon; sister Lillian Teplinsky of Glendale; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Rabbi Marc Berkson officiated at services Dec. 12. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery.
