Bernard Rosman

Longtime Milwaukeean Bernard Rosman, of Glendale, died on August 28 of natural causes. He was 99.

Born in Tzibilovka, Moldova, he was the second youngest of eight brothers. He survived World War II and, after a stay in a displaced persons camp in Italy, he came to Milwaukee in 1950.

A member of Congregation Beth Israel, he worked in real estate and scrap metal. Special interests included European history and journalism. According to his son, Al (Debra) Rosman, of Fox Point, he spoke several languages fluently.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sally (nee Roizman) in 2002 and his son, William, in 1997. In addition to his son Al, he is survived by 2 granddaughters.

Rabbi Ronald Shapiro officiated at graveside services on Aug. 30.
Burial was in Second Home Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Granville Senior Center, 7717 W. Good Hope Rd., Milwaukee, would be appreciated by the family.
