Beatrice (nee Reitman) Muchin died Dec. 5 of natural causes. She was 86.
A graduate of South Division High School in 1934, she continued her education at Silver Lake College. In 1971, she and her husband established Muchin Steel Supply Company. Until her retirement, she remained president of the company.
A member of Anshe Poale Zedek Synagogue in Manitowoc, she was active in its sisterhood. She also belonged to the Manitowoc County Brotherhood Committee of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, and Manitou Girl Scout Council. She was instrumental in establishing the Jefferson Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization.
She was preceded in death by husband Manassa Nash Muchin in 1987. She is survived by daughters Elaine (Arthur) Friedman of Fox Point, Diane (Saul) Margolis of Manitowoc, Sheila (Myril) Manhoff of Bayside and Rachel (Patrick) Young of Manitowoc; sister Marilyn Spiegel of Milwaukee; sister-in-law Reva Reitman Schlonsky of Glendale and brother-in-law Arden (Bette Lou) Muchin of Manitowoc.
Rabbi Bernard Reichman officiated at funeral services Dec. 6. Burial is in Anshai Lebowitz Cemetery.
