After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his father Louis Sosman, who lived to be 101 years old.
He was a member of Congregation Shalom.
According to his family, his greatest joy in his later years was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. His grandson, Matt Canter, said “the most important award he earned was ‘Grandfather of the Year.’”
