Seymour Orth

Milwaukee businessman Seymour “Sy” Orth of Shorewood died Nov. 28 of lung cancer. He was 85.

A native of Detroit, Orth grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Lincoln High School. He attended Marquette University for two years and served as a U.S. Army medic during World War II in the Philippines.

He was a partner in Lee Lewis Haberdashers, located on Old World Third St. in downtown Milwaukee.

He is survived by his wife Edith Orth (nee Sosoff), daughters Paula Orth and Phyllis Weinberg, and one granddaughter.

Rabbi Ronald Shapiro officiated at the funeral on Dec. 2. Burial was in Mound Zion Cemetery.

Memorials to Na’amat of the USA or the St. Mary’s Hospice Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
